As the borough’s leader in joint replacement surgery, our physicians are experts in hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow replacement. Using the latest robotic technology, joint replacement has become more precise than ever before, benefitting patients with severely damaged joints. 

Since 2017 NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is proud to be the first to offer a comprehensive outpatient joint replacement surgery program to the borough. Candidates for this option allow patients to receive joint replacement surgery with the goal of returning home in under 24 hours and avoiding staying in the hospital.

Our team of orthopedic surgeons works closely with anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who follow best practices that ensure you are comfortable and pain-free throughout your surgery. Based on your needs, the team will determine whether a combination of regional or general anesthesia is best for you.

A multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and occupational and physical therapists will be by your side following your surgery to ensure you regain mobility safely and quickly. Your family and loved ones are also encouraged to have an active role in your recovery.
