Resident Evaluation Project(REP)
Use communication to advance education.
As a teaching Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital's mission to educate new physicians is critical. To ensure quality interactions between resident physicians and their patients, we have implemented an evaluation system, the Resident Evaluation Project (REP).
Pre-medical students have a unique opportunity to interview patients to determine their satisfaction with physician interactions. You will be trained to visit patients assigned to the residents and to offer a short questionnaire. You will gain experience interacting with patients and medical staff under the auspices of the Department of Medicine and the Department of Surgery. This is a highly competitive volunteer opportunity and requires training and education.
We would love to hear from you if you are: pre-med or enrolled in a post-baccalaureate program, a good communicator, interested in using feedback to improve healthcare, outgoing, discreet, bilingual in English and Russian and/or English and Spanish (strongly desired).
Minimum Commitment: Four to six hours per week for a minimum of six months.
Times: Monday through Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm
How to Apply:
In addition to completing the online application, each applicant must email a copy of his/her resumé to Wendy Froede, Director of Volunteer Resources.
Applicants who do not complete both steps will not be considered.
